SOIA was born in Portugal with a very simple idea: companies should be able to use artificial intelligence without handing their data over to third parties or facing unpredictable costs. We build agents that work alongside people, with very clear rules and always with the human in control and making the decisions.

For some years now I have been using artificial intelligence to help me with everyday tasks. My work often took me to remote places where there wasn't always Internet access. At those times, I lost access to the AI tools I had come to rely on.

That need gave birth to SOIA, the idea of having a permanent AI living in my own computing environment.

After more than a year of development, I reached a result I can share with anyone who faces the same difficulties I did.

I believe we can all have our own private AI. An AI that takes care of repetitive and complex tasks, without us having to send private or sensitive information to other companies' external servers.

Our data tells the story of our business and of the people we work with. It shouldn't leave home without us knowing where it is going.

The agent proposes; sensitive actions wait for a person. AI is a tool for the team, not a replacement.

Data stays at home

Everything runs on the customer's equipment, on their network or without internet. No data leaves their perimeter.

No making things up

Every answer about the company comes with its source. When there is no evidence in the documents, the agent says it is not on record.

AWAY FROM THE SCREEN

Waves and chords.

When he isn't building SOIA, and whenever he can, Valter is out at sea with a board or making music, two long-standing passions he can't do without.

The sea is essential to his wellbeing. It gives him peace, energy and a moment to look inwards. It is there that his best ideas are often born.

Music, for its part, takes him to other, more reflective worlds. Between the drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar and a bit of bass, that is where he finds another rhythm for thinking.
